For my experiment, I wanted to know if kids and adults had the same fear. I thought it was interesting to see if adults and kids had the same fears or if they were completely different. Fear is associated with a specific threat. A fear that is unreasonable and out of proportion to actual danger is called a phobia. A facial expression of fear could include widening of the eyes, your pupils dilate, you upper lip rises, your eyebrows draw together, and your lips stretch horizontally. For example, if someone were to jump out and scare you, that will mostly likely be your facial expression. Fear happens to everyone and sometimes it's unexpected.
I asked 10 female kids, 10 female adults, 10 male kids, and 10 male adults what their fear was. I made a table with three columns. ( Gender, age, and fear.)
My hypothesis was mostly correct. Adults and children do share some of the same fears and the also have different fears. Both age groups fear spiders but, kids fear spiders two times more more than adults. They also have different fears. For Example, 25% overall feared the dark. And that 25% was kids. None of the adults were afraid of the dark. Kids and adults fear the same fears but either adults or kids feared a fear more than the other.
